changing network speed?

I have a desktop hooked up to a network and it says I am connected at 10Mbs. The other PCs are connected at 100Mbs. I'm thinking the 10Mbs PC can be changed to 100Mbs, but can't figure out how to do it. It has WinXP Pro & the network adapter in the device manager is listed as an Intel (R) PRO/1000 MT Network Connection. Can this network connection be changed to 100Mbs? If so, how?

im pretty sure that your maximum connection speed with regards to going over 10Mbps is to do with the quality of the cable (providing that the NIC is capable of that speed). as far as im aware the cards will automatically conect at their maximum speed providing they can connect with a good signal quality
