Thought I'd get started with the 'all new' contests for August before August actually begins, so here we go!

----------------------------------

CF Unofficial Rig Contest – Uniqueness

AIM: The most unique computer possible - unique case, unique parts, anything which makes the rig 'yours'.

How the contests work:
The CF Unofficial Rig Contest was originally started by Byteninja2 but since taken over by Spirit (with help from Benny Boy).

A new contest will come out on the first and fifteenth day of every month, there will be two contests per month. Each contest will have a different theme, as chosen by the winner of the previous contest – these themes can be things like “cable management”, “uniqueness”, “best bang for buck rig” etc.

You will have seven days to submit your entries and then eight days to vote for your favourite rigs. The winner of the poll at the end of the eight days will go on and create a new contest with a new theme. Ideally the creator of the contest should be the one who posts up the voting thread, but other members who have participated are permitted to do this.

The submitting thread will be located in the ‘General Computer Chat’ forum and the voting thread in the ‘Off Topic Chat’ forum.

Rules:
To enter the contest:
- You must have 100+ posts.
- You must own the rig.
- Maximum of 10 members per contest.
- You may only submit one rig.*

Submissions:
- You may only embed ONE photo in your submission post, but you may LINK to other photos of your rig which fit the theme.

- No spot saving is allowed, but you are permitted to change your submission at any time, just edit your original submission post with your new entry.

- You are permitted to submit computer manipulated photos BUT you may only lightly retouch the photos. An original/unedited photo should be linked (NOT embedded) in your submission post if you are submitting a computer manipulated image.

- When submitting photos please resize your images to an acceptable resolution. Any massive images will not be counted in the voting thread, simple as that. Remember not everybody has large monitors.

Voting:
- Members vote for the rig(s) which fit the theme best.
- No voting for yourself, else you will be banned from future contests.
- You may vote for as many rigs as you like.
- You do not need to have submitted a rig in order to vote.
- You do not need 100+ posts in order to vote.

> Any forum member with 100+ posts can sponsor this contest. Sponsoring is completely optional, as is accepting a prize.

> The prize doesn't have to be computer related or have much value. A sponsor can offer an item or small amount of cash. Just something for a little more fun!

>The winner can choose a single prize from one sponsor, or the small cash prize from multiple sponsors. The contest winner will PM the sponsor to work out the details.

>The winner pays the shipping cost. The sponsor should be located in the same country as the winner of the contest to keep shipping costs to a minimum. More sponsors help ensure the winner a prize.

Excellent! Thank you, but would you mind only embedding one photo please? You can put links in for the rest that's not a problem at all but only one embedded photo please. :)

Do love the case mod though, the white looks great! :good:

Edit: Thanks! All is good! :)

Linkin's rig look pretty beastly I must admit, wouldn't mind having one of those babies running in my house ;D

What all you got there?

Asus nforce 2 mobo, 2gb ddr 400 ram, 40gb ide drive, 450w thermaltake psu, I put a geforce ti4200 shortly after cause the 1997 pci gpu could not display a picture, ubuntu 11.10, and a athlon xp overclocked to 2.4ghz. It idled at 60c.

I threw most of it away awile ago. Found the pic and figured why not :D

Its a rosewill mini black and silver tower, with a biostar nforce 750 mobo, and 4x1 gig ddr2 ballistix 800mhz ram, and 2x 9800GTX+ cards, never managed to get a psu or cpu in it, hoping when i get back to colorado i can get it finished...should be a nice setup, though i think i may replace most of the internals....and run single graphics card :) But anyway, reason i think its unique is due to the front psu mounting position, its a transverse front mounted psu, and still the case manages to handle a full atx motherboard...its quite nice.

That cooler's quite the contraption:D
Haha, thanks. I made it by taking most of the fins off of a Kingwin RVT-12025D, then tie-wrapping two Dell Pentium 4 heatsinks onto the heatpipes. I had to get a couple pieces of copper machined to fit onto the heatpipes, so that enough surface area would be available to the two Dell heatsinks in order to usefully transfer heat to them. It's actually a bit pointless, but I originally did it for an experiment in which I tried to harvest energy from the CPU's excess heat using TECs. I was able to pull enough energy to power a few LEDs. :)
