Can't record sounds played in Windows

Got the GA-965P-DS3 mobo and am using the built-in audio chipset. Can it be that it can't record sounds played live in Windows with let's say Sound Forge? I used to do that with the 10-years old Fortissimo II sound card!

So, sounds comes out but you can't record anything? Installed drivers correctly? Does the program you're using have a particular setting to do that? Try a different program like audacity and see if that works.

You must go into your Recording settings for Volume Control and make sure "Stereo Mix" or "Wave Out" is checked. You will also need to select a similar setting in your recording program.

Sorry for my late answer and thank you for yours.
As a matter of fact, this problem only occurs under Windows Vista in which there's nothing named "stereo mixer" or "wave out" in the recording properties panel.
There are only three recording methods available: microphone, line-in and digital input. Is it supposed to work with that last one, cause nothing's happening when I'm trying it...

Just fixed it. For some reasons the stereo mixer was disabled and disabled elements are hidden by default, that's why I couldn't find it.
Thanx anyway!
