can't find router !

I accidentally set the subnet mask of router to 255.255.255.255
it was supposed to be 255.255.255.0

now i can't access it to set it back
and of course i can't set my subnet mask to 255.255.255.255

what should i do ! :confused:

DHCP is already disabled
and i can't even ping the router
so i can't access it to modify any settings

i need a solution for this

it's something about the combination of my IP and my subnet mask
i'm not an expert in this matter
so i need help !
 
Linksys - 192.168.1.1
DLink - 192.168.0.1
Belkin - 192.168.2.1
Motorola - 192.168.10.1

Those are the gateway/router IPs I've encountered over the years. All use the subnet 255.255.255.0. Setup a computer's IP within that range and try again. You don't need a gateway or DNS entered to connect to the router, just to connect to the internet.
 
Cant you just change it under network connections? I seriously don't know why you can't get it working. Did you change it in your computer or in the router?
 
may be i didn't make my problem clear enough

the router had a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 as so did i
i accidentally set it to 255.255.255.255
now
where is the router ?
i can't access it because it's not in my subnet
and i can't go to it's subnet to access it
my question is how can i find the router ?
it had a class A private IP
let's say
Me:10.10.10.2
R : 10.10.10.200

You can't access the router. That's all there is to it. You have to reset it. It's not a big deal. So you have to reenter a couple of settings. That can't be the end of the world, can it?
