cant figure out this printer

alright so just got this new all in one printer a Lexmark x1270
i followed the instructions
-hooked up powercord
-opened scanner and put in ink cartridges
-installed software before hooking up USB cable
- hooked it up and said new software i said cancel cause installed from cd already and instructions told me to do so
im not sure what could possible have gone wrong, i have uninstalled and tried things in various orders i have tried to install my printer off of a list, my specific model could not be found...... also all usb printer cables are the same right, casue we used a differnet usb cable that the comp still recognized

Uninstall everything. Download the latest May driver from Lexmark and try that instead. The CD's shipped with the product may be outdated and that may of been a bug.
 
i dont get it i tired using the latest drivers from the website and its still as if theres no printer installed at all, whereever there is a prnt option it tells me to install a printer :(
 
Did you shutdown your puter after you UNinstalled drivers?
Then hook up printer usb/power and then power on computer and window should find, recognize and install or ask for drivers.
