can u use another computer as an external cd rom for another computer? if so can u possibly tell me how...i dont want to buy one but i would like to know if this is possible cause i would lke to put windows 7 on my netbook whick has NO cd rom....

Your best bet is to copy the windows 7 cd contents to a flash drive and boot to the flash drive to install w7.

Yes, that would be a no... I know you said you didn't want to buy one but an external cdrom drive will come in handy on a netbook so you can install other software.

Technically that has nothing to do with his question. All he wanted to know was if he could use another computers rom drive to install 7 and he can't.

He clearly quotes the term "cd rom" twice. I'm merely pointing this out so he doesn't head out to buy an external "cd rom" drive, expecting it to work with his Windows 7 DVD.

Clarification is key here, especially when you implied that he should buy an "external cdrom drive".

In no way am I trying to be sarcastic, I'm simply clarifying my actions, as well as the differences noted above for the OP.
