Can this possibly be a sound card problem?

Hi.
I'm new to the forum, so I wish I can get as much help as possible.

Ever since I've bought this computer, everything is indeed perfect. But, whenever I play a high-detailed game. I seem to get a lot of lag along with my sound. My sound goes static, and my both my cores jumps up to 100%. The lag stops a few seconds after (5 second maximum). Everything goes back to normal and the game runs smoothly.

I don't get it?!

I've tried playing the game without sound, by disabling my playback device. This worked. I get very little lag, and not that lag when my sound goes static and my cpu jumps to 100%. I think it can also be a motherboard problem, which I heard is a real pain.

Your sound card is integraded, correct?

If so, try getting a cheap PCI sound card. Since apparently you found out the source of the problem.

Yep, it's integraded.

If the problem really is your integrated sound card, then yes.

Integrated sound always has this problem, or similar ones. I would not get a USB soundcard, they do not sound that great over integrated and they have driver issues.

Assuming you have a free PCI slot, this should do nicely:

Try fixing the issue with the USB sound card if that works!

USB headsets have problems of their own, i would not recommend them. they either have their own cut-down DAC or use the onboard sound chip.
