Can someone help me please

I have a Toshiba Tecra 9000. A few days ago the sound went out, even when trying to use headphones. I have taken the computer apart and then turned it on and played a movie and jiggled some stuff around to see if I could find the source of the problem. I found that it is not the sound board. I have been told that it is the wireless LAN minipci board. This board has two wires connected to it that can be swiveled. One black and one white. Well I found that touching the white wire made the sound come back on for a second then went back off. I did this about 3 times total and then I could not get the sound to come back on at all. I was just wondering if anyone knew how could it be possible for the wireless card to affect the sound. I would really like some help because all I use my laptop for is music and movies (and internet). Thank you in advance.

Not really sure but I'd suggest not wiggling any wires while your pc is running as this will no doubt cause more problems by blowing components. b4 you ripped apart your pc did you check all settings withing the OS and Bios to make sure that nothing got changed first? this is always the first thing that should be done before taking apart a pc.

I'm guessing here so dont take to heart what I say but If it worked when you wiggled this wire a few times before giving up what seems entirely then I would think that perhaps from your explanation that you had a loose connection but then shorted it out frying somthing by wiggling it. Just a logical guess from your explanation of the events but dont take it to heart it could be somthing else entirely.

The thing is that I was playing a movie before it was broken. Then I moved the lap top onto a foot rest. While placing down the rear ac power wire that was plugged in was being slightly pushed upward because of the shape of the footrest, well right when I layed it down the sound made some static noise and then shut off. So it is definately a hardware issue.

I probably did fry something by doing what I did, but I guess my main question is is there a correlation between the wireless LAN card and the sound. I dont know a whole lot about computers so I dont know.

My brother told me that his dell laptop strait out of the factory could never get the sound or modem to work. Even after reinstalling the dell drivers for them many times. Well years passed by and he bought a webcam and installed the drivers for it, and suddenly his sound and modem worked. He doesnt know why. But to me it sounds like there could a relationship between the sound and wireless lan card just wondering if this is correct though. If it is I will try replacing the wireless card.
My wireless works for the internet flawlessly though thats why I'm skeptical.

Thanks for your reply though.
