can I use network attached storage for web hosting?

Hi Guys
I just wanted to know if I would be able to use network attached storage for web hosting or does it have to be like a desktop or laptop to do it?

as of right now no but I want to soon that is why i am asking

when you install a webserver, map a network drive to where your network storage is. Then change the location of where the files for your website are stored. Somewhere in the settings or the config file there is somewhere that you can put a directory in for your files. Change that directory to your mapped net drive.

so the webserver haves to operate off of my laptop or the network attached storage

No,
Just share the folder where your gonna store all your web docs.Then on the computer where the web server is, set the location to that share. By location, again I mean in your web server,there is a place in the program or in a config file that you can set the location of the files that you want to be on the internet.
