This has been happening for awhile now. I don't know where it's coming from ,but it happens every time I finish loading a game and I have the option to "press any key" to begin. Immediately after it loads the game the sounds comes on its really high pitched. Any clue on how to stop it?

I would think if it is coming from the machine itself, it would probably be the power supply or the graphics card, my radeon 6850 made a slight squealing noise when under load.

Sorry for the late reply ,but is there anything I can do to stop it? and is it bad that the sound is happening?

Well as i said my previous gpu made a weird noise under load, but when i researched it online it was apparently normal and the card never gave me any problems.

First of all we need to find exactly what component is producing the sounds, try taking the side of your case and see if you can confirm where the noise is coming from, you could try and make the noise more prominent by running a light benchmark while listening.

I would not run a heavy benchmark like futuremark incase it killed the possibly faulty component, try using geekbench or novabench they are pretty light and don`t run for ages.

I know this a very old topic, but the sound is back and I pinpointed it to the graphics card. What should I do next? return it or...?

Try cleaning the fan on the card with canned air. A lot of dust can build up in it's HSF area and over time can cause issues (fan unbalanced, fan spinning faster to compensate for added heat). Make sure the HSF is still securely attached to the card itself - inspect the pins/screws to make sure none are loose/worn.

If that doesn't work, try moving the card to a different PCI slot and/or borrow a card from a friend to test and verify it isn't a slot issue. If it persists in a different slot or the other card is silent, then get a new card.

It seems like a temp/fan issue then; either there's too much heat build-up and the fan is running quicker as a result, or the fan bearing is on it's way out. Remove the card and use the canned air mentioned above to clean any dust off the HS and fan fins then try it out again. If it's simply a dirty HSF causing heat build-up, you should be fine (unless the actual thermal compound is too old, in which case either put new stuff on, or if you're not comfortable doing it, get a new card).

If it's a bearing, get a new card.
