buying new or used

Hi,
I'm planning to buy some pc speakers. I mostly want to get the logitech z-5500 and the best prices that I could find is around $230-$240 on Dell.com and Amazon.com (including s/h) for new and used ones usually fall in the ballpark of $150 (usually without counting in s/h). So I'm wondering if it's a good idea to save a couple of bucks and buy them used, but risk running into problems down the road or just cough up the extra dough and buy them brand new with the factory warranty? Thanks for any input.

Try www.newegg.com

or www.tigerdirect.com

definetly go with new used speaker normally have problems so definetly new

Agreed, especially with the z5500s. I've read about loads of people having problems, but usually it seems to be within the first year. When I got mine the first set were completely dead, had to be replaced. I don't think they're the most durable speakers, so buying new makes even more sense with them

Well, I decided to get them new. I bought them for $199 from tiger direct via amazon and got free shipping. But the absolute best part was...I placed my order at around 4pm and they were delivered to my door at around 1:30pm the very next day! Less than 24hrs from the moment I clicked on "place order" to having them in my hands. Granted, the distance from where it was shipped was probably no more than 150 miles, but still. But anyway, I'm quite happy with my new speakers thus far.

A while ago TigerDirect had a special to get the z-5500 for $180 plus a $40 mail in rebate. So $140 for a set of z-5500's is a good deal. Just wait for another good deal to roll around!
