I ran into the same situation recently. Luckily there are a lot of torrents available that offer only the disc and no hacks or anything illegal. As long as your code is legit, you can download the disc to reinstall windows.

Make sure you read descriptions for the torrents though! There are a lot illegitimate ones floating around and you want to make sure you keep yourself on the up and up. Look for one that says its the installation cd only!

im scared of Mep, hes helpfull and everything but i got intruble for the same think about 20 days ago for doing somthing....

I think to clarify this matter for future reference Im going to contact microsoft on the issue out of curiosity.

You need permission from Microsoft to legally distribute the OS via a torrent tracker. If you do not have permission (the creators of the torrents do not), it is illegal. End of story.

Besides, ronster is interested in purchasing a legal copy.

Ronster, search around your computer's support site and see if there's a way to do a factory recovery. If you post the model name and number of your computer, I can try to help you out.

That's fine. If you get a reply, post it here if the thread is still open. You can PM it to me as well.

Will do, again my apologies I know the rules are rules but I really thought it was acceptable to do so as long as you owned a valid key and thats what your purchasing from microsoft.

they have a factory reset disk for my model, but i am going to use the xp code off this computer, in my next build so i can save a tad bit of cash, so if i get the reset disk it wont work on my next computer

Chances are they deactivated that key from being activated. What brand of computer is it?

Well usually with OEM machines you can't take the key that is on the side of the machine and use it on another install even if that machine is no longer in service. You will need to purchase an OEM or retail version of an OS to install on a new machine.
