Burning To DVD

I burned some pictures to a DVD+RW and the computer asked me if I wanted to burn it like a flash drive.
Are there any advantages to that?
Should I burn them like that or the regular way?

I burned them to the RW as I was trying out the burning,I'll burn them to a regular DVD later.

Pictures is fine and even programs. I carry them in my pocket. Maybe visiting family. Nothing the matter with backup to dvd. i don't bother with rewrite. dvd's are cheap enough in quantity.
if on your computer with usb then copy and paste.
