Also looking for suggestions on other parts that would maybe lower the cost a little a bit but still work nicely.

And was wondering how the led lights work i would like to make it glow a color... Not sure which one yet :) Thanks.

Of the parts there, the case and hard drive can definitely be cheaper.

What GPU and power supply are you planning on using?

Ahh forgot the vid card (GPU right?) i got a geforce 5600 i would put in and im not sure on what power supply to use i think i asked that above.

As for the case i think it looks cool so imma roll with it most likely as long as i can get a bunch of the 3-4$ LED lights in there to make it cool looking.

And hard drive i thought 1 TB would be cool but am definitely open to other products throw some out there.

haha alright pick one out for me would ya? Its my first one not too familiar with everything.

seeing im running a 1.5 g ddr2 ram with 2 ghzdual pentium processor with 80 g hd im a little out of date :)

Will do, but I have 2 more questions:

What OS are you using?

Do you need an open-air case like that?

XP atm id be fine sticking with that wont mind going windows 7 though.

Nah i dont need that case but would like something that looks cool :)

You'll need a new OS then...you can't move windows form a store bought computer to a new motherboard. They all use OEM copies, which means they can't be moved to another pc.

That's my next question. You can get windows 7 for $185 and be able to move it to whatever computer you want (retail), or get it for $105 and have it locked to the first motherboard you put it on. What would you prefer?

(note: I believe it locks to the same model motherboard, not the specific one, so if you have OEM and your mobo dies you can replace it, it just has to be with the same model)

spose i have to take the retail version got 2 other computers in this house i can throw it on i spose... If a friend had one could i just use his???

You can only have the retail version on one computer at a time. You have to register when you install. The only difference is that you can take it off of one computer and put it on another.

Windows identifies the motherboard as the "computer", so what that really means is that you can move retail from one motherboard to another.

It also comes with 32 and 64 bit versions, but there's no point in using 32 bit now so that doesn't matter.

alright i got ya ill think about that. So what other parts should i get then? for the GPU, Case, anything else that would work better.

lol :)

He needs an OS, so it'll have to be cut down, but that's very similar to what I've got so far
