Building a Computer

I have a old computer which does work but needs to get a new HDD, ram, processor and graphics card. Will I need to replace the motherboard if I replace the processor, and also does anyone know how to format for HDD? as it might save me from buying a new HDD.
 
If you're going that far, you would want to replace the motherboard anyway, depending on what hardware you already have.

Please post the specs of the system in question.
