Hi. I HAVE A BT 205 MODEM ROUTER AND HAVE NOW CONNECTED THAT UPTO TO A BELKIN WIRELESS PRINT SERVER, BUT THE LAPTOP WILL OLNY CONNECT WHEN WEP IS NOT ENABLED. SO I AM WONDERING HOW I CAN SOLVE THIS ISSUE. I THINK ITS TO DO WITH THE BT MODEM POSSIBLE NOT SUPPORTING WEP?

ANYONE KNOW?

THANKS

explain your network setup up in more detail
ok have a BT VOYAGER 205 MODEMROUTER OBVIOUSLY PROVIFING MY INTERNET.
THEN CONNECTED TO THAT IS A BELKIN F5D7231uk4P ROUTER.
I AM WANTING TO CONNECT A TOSHIBA LAPTOP TO THE INTERNET WIRELESS VIA THE ROUTER.

NOW IF I DONT APPLY WEP TO THE BELKIN ROUTER THEN THE LAPTOP CONNECTS FINE. BUT AS SOON AS ENABLE WEP TO THE BELKING ROUTER, THE LAPTOP WONT CONNECT.

I THINK IT IS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE BT VOYAGER 205 NOT SUPPORTING WEB OR A SETTING NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.

THANKS

Now found out gotta enter these details

VPI = 0
VCI = 38
Mode = Multimode (or g.dmt)
QoS = UBR
PPPoA with VC MUX (or VC Based / RFC 2364)
CHAP authentication

but not 100% sure where

ok, firstly its not the modem at fault, as the issue is upstream from there.

Now when you enable wep on the router, giving you a wep key. They you go to the laptop and conect to the router using a new connection where you specify the wep key. Can you confirm you have done this

Thanks for the reply, but i have managed to solve it. As just said its wasnt the modem or router,was because the wep key wasnt set correctly on the actual laptop. But all good and fine now.

Thankyou anyway
