hi i was just wondering what hardware i would need to setup a home network.
i was wanting to set up my broadband internet connection my Playstation 2 and my two desktop computers via wires and my laptop via wireless. if possible i would like a modem/router combanation but i dont no much about technical specs in this field. please reply to this post or email me at: [email protected] thank you

hey, i have two playstation 2's and one desktop system connected wirelessly, (my other desktop is wired.) You are going to need 1 wireless network adapter for your playstation 2, 2 external wireless network adapters for your 2 desktop systems, and probably one internal wireless network card for your laptop. i would suggest buying them from linksys:

Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless-B Broadband Router (or) WRT54G Wireless-G Broadband Router

for playstation 2: Linksys WGA11b Wireless-B Game Adapter (or) WGA54G Wireless-G Game Adapter

for each desktop: Linksys WET11 Wireless-B Ethernet Bridge (or) WET54G Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge

for laptop: Linksys WPC11 Wireless-B Notebook Adapter (or) Linksys WPC54G Wireless-G Notebook Adapter

**you will also need at least one 6" cat5 cable....... but you probably already have that.

The wireless-b products are not as fast as the wireless-g, but wireless-g is more expensive than wireless-b .. i have b and it works fine.

then just hook everything up, configure it, and you're set.
