Hey.

Im new here :) Im from Denmark so my english isnt the best. :)

My computer is during blue screen of dead. Its comming up with a blue screen with a lot of text, but in the same second its rebooting, so i cant see what it is writing.

It was different things i was doing when it did it.

I had windows XP, so i formated my computer and installed Windows 7.

It was yesterday i did that. Today while i wasnt with my computer it rebooted. I didnt see if it was during blue screen before it rebooted.

Its going in to Windows again and stood there a couple of minutes. After that its comming up with a blue screen, witch says "Reference_By_Pointer" The text was there twice, and i had to reboot to get in to windows again.

I was seeking on google at "Reference_By_pointer" and it said it might me a windows problem.

But what am i going to do about that? And do it have anything to do with the bsod i had in XP ?

My computer is only 3 months old. So i shouldnt be a hardware problem?

Im sorry if my english sucks, but i hope you all understand it anyway :)

From what i can tell you switched from xp which was fine to windows 7 which was getting the blue screen of death. That is for sure a driver issue.

No, the blue screen of dead was in XP too. That was why i switched to windows 7, because i thought it was XP that was the problem.

Microsoft references it as a driver problem. It may not be anything to do with the OS's XP or W7 but another program's driver, or hardware you have added since the install.

Driver conflict, that's the only plousble explnation. Im 99% sure. Have you added any new hardware/software? Any windows software updates.?

if you were having this problem with xp then you reformatted your hdd and installed win7 and still have the problem chance are a hardware problem... or did you upgrade from xp keeping your files and what not..?

hmm.. Theres no new hardware in it. How do i know witch driver is doing the problem?

I dont remember installing any new software when it all started. When i had xp and ive got BSOD, i tryed to reinstall my graphiccard, and it did it anyway.

No, i didnt keep any files. I formated 100% my harddrive and installed win 7.

How do i know witch hardware is doing the problem?

It really sucs.. I only got the computer 3 months ago :(

could be hardware related from settings or incompatibility... since it did the same in xp and you did a fresh install with win7 it looks more like a hardware issue...

Oh okay.

Well.. Its really annoying when its teasing me. If it just could give me a bang and a smokesky, then i knew what the problem was.. But noo.. It HAVE to tease me. Stupid!

You can get a HDD utility from the manufacturer of the drive to check it for errors.. also may want to run a diagnostic on the memory as well..

HDD or Ram would be my suspects.. resetting the bios would put things back to default in case something has gotten changed inadvertently..

I do not see how it would roll over from XP to clean install of win7 if it was software related...

Start off by validating all your system files. Go to the "Command prompt" and type in sfc /scannow (note thye space after sfc)
If it finds a problem one it may ask for your W7 disk to get the file so have it handily by you.

You may have installed a program or whatever that has overwritten a sysyem file with a badly coded one.

I allready runned a cleaner on the memory, and it still does it.

I'll try to run a utility on the drive. If that dosent work either, i'll try to change the ram and harddrive. Luckely it isnt the most expencive hardware.
