i looked all over but ccannot find how to block sites thru a router. i want to block runescape.com so my brother gets off his a*s and does something alredy. thanks

Your modem may have website or IP blocking, i know my router doesnt so i have to go through the modem. If neither has one, you may have to resort to an external firewall or software on his computer.

Which router do you have? I know that my router lets me specify what sites I can block on anyones IP.

You can block it through IE

Go to tools, options, content, or whatever, and password protect it and list runescape as a site to be blocked

It's very easy to get past that. If you cant block it via an external piece of hardware (router), and you have to use a piece of software, i would go with a program specifically designed for blocking sites. Child Control is a great program, i use it on our family computer.

You know how to access the router right? I would check there and see if you can block sites. I would reccomend that over getting software. Especially if your brother doesnt know the password to the router.

i looked already the best i can do is block his IP from accessing the net. thats what i do now when he dosent get up so he cant get on anything.

Bobo, that Ie thing sucks. It blocks all sites and requires a password to get on any site at all

No, it doesn't

Put all the blocking sliders on 0 or 4 (whichever lets all through) and check the box that allows nonrated sites (or whatever it is called, I don't have IE here to tell you exactly)

Then put www.runescape.com on the blocked sites list
