Hello, Another most likely basic question..
i'm bringing 2 computers back into use that have been idle for 5 years. and such I'd like to change the battery on the mother boards so I don't get them in use and those take a crap.
is there a way to power the board long enough with another battery the same volt. as you swap the button battery..?
if not, or to risky to loose power as you try this..
How would you save the bios info/commands (whatever the tech name for it is ) and then after the battery change reinstall them..
I'm a newbie to most of this.. so you might have to list even the most basic of order of operations ..
I don't have a ubs flash thumb but that's easy to get if that's what you use.. but how to save and then reload the bios.
os is xp at the moment if that comes into play,, and yes I know xp is dead after 4/14 it'll be on w7 or8 soon after the battery change
