Best Sound Card for a reasonable amount!

What is the best Sound Card out there right now! I have come to the conclusion that my audio problems that I have is a realtek problem, and I am not going to mess around with it any more! I have heard that sound blaster is the best out there is that true?
Also I want the card to be able to support 7.1 speaker configuration!
Also I don't know if my questions have been already answered in another thread so if it is then let me know mods, but I also think that mine ?'s are little more unique too!

I am looking for something that is better than the realtek card that came with my motherboard, as it underperforms! My budget is anywhere from 0-200, but I really just need a decent sound card! So I am not looking to spend $200 but would if need be!

Also I need to use something other than the PCIE 1x bc it is already taken, So I have been looking at PCI, I do have 16x and 4x slots open, but not the 1x, so if their are card that are good and will fit these slots then I am all ears! I am also looking to order something this week!
This may be a rant, but if I was a company and I put out that kind of stuff such as realtek onboard audio, I would be ashamed to sell it, it is absolutely horrible! Maybe if you had 2 speakers then it might be fine, but not in todays world! C'mon manufactures earn ur money! I really didn't expect to have to buy an audio card when I put my system together! But it looks like if I want good sound then I will have to!

A PCI-e slot can be used in any slot. A PCI-e x1 card can still go in an x4 or x16 slot.

I ended up buying a Xonar D1, After talking to a tigerdirect tech person, he said that for the system that I had that would work really well. I am extremely impressed with tigerdirect.com. Their Tech support is awesome! I cannot say the same for newegg.com! I was very unimpressed by newegg, they have no support whatsoever. To me that is not good customer service. I am not keen on sound cards or Graphics cards, so when it comes to buy those things then I would expect that the company give me support when I buy them! When I asked them about a certain card they told me they couldn't give me any tech support, I told them "I'll have to buy from tigerdirect.com then". They didn't say a word! I mean if you sell the stuff you need to have support!
And yes voyager, I should've know that, I just forgot that. I am still learning as we all are! So I tend to forget more than I remember! Plus I always think that you have to have the right thing (such as 1x,4x,16x) to be exactly that, in this case that is not so!

Nope. You can install the card first. Just be sure to go to ASUS' website and download the latest driver package.
