Best earphones for Iphone?

Does anybody have any good recommendations for a pair of earphones for the iphone. It must have controls for mute, skipping songs, and a mic as well.

Sennheiser is my favorite brand. they make such good quality audio equipment, i would buy from them.

I have the iPhone 3G and a lot of my headphones won't fit in the depressed jack... is there like a plug-extension that can fill the depression so I can use my real headphones instead of stupid cheap earbuds?

I have the 5vi for my HTC Desire, and they're great. It's a tad on the bassy side, and they are a bit fragile. However, the noise cancellation and sound quality for the price is second-to-none.

I use Sony MX something or others. Silicone in ear, no controls, but great sound.

Let's be honest. The earbuds Apple bundles with its iPod and iPhone range are horrible. Their sound quality is terrible, with weak bass and a tinny mid-section, they're uncomfortable in the ears and have abysmal sound isolation.

It's as if a decade's progress in audio design passed Apple by, leaving you with earbuds that would struggle to impress at the turn of the century, and certainly won't satisfy now.

If you've invested in an Apple audio device, it makes sense to spend a little more and get yourself a set of earbuds that do your music justice. And if that device is an iPhone, you could go for a set with inline controls.

I have those sennheiser earbuds. There are pretty much the BEST earphones you can get for the price. I've had about 16 different types of Sennheiser earphones/headsets and i've got to admit, they are of great quality it seems like they have a stick quality control on the equipment they have.

You've gotta be shitting me, Geoff. I agree a lot of mp3 players out there just throw in the cheapest headphones they can find in there..but my sony ericsson phone for example came with awesome headphones..ones that put the ipod ones to shame.

Even relatively speaking it would be hard to call the apple ones awesome, and I've bought some pretty cheap crap in my day. IMO they belong in the garbage with most other bundled headphones.
