Ok so ive finally got the internet (5mb BT). Im using som old belkin 802.11g wireless router, its rubbish, always disconnects. Wot is the best wireless router with built in modem to get in the uk. Nothing over 130 pounds.
 
well the belkin g is not a bad router... you should probably identify the problem before you waste your money... and get the same problem.
 
well my computer is upstairs and the router is downstairs so that probably the problem. I had it for a 1 1/1 yrs so im guessing the technology has oved on quite a bit??
Am i wrong?
 
Well g is still fast for LAN... I know there is newer stuff out there. But if your sticking with wireless, when you could just run an ethernet cord and double your speed and take away all the connectivity issues... I dont think your looking for speed, just reliability.. Am I right?
 
ye but the problem is my parents dont want wires going up the stairs. So i gota do it wireless. Belive me i would do it with a cable if i could. Ye basically i just want something that wont disconnect when im playing counter strike (so annoying!)
 
I've heard of a lot of problems with Belkin networking hardware. D-Link, Linksys and Netgear tend to have the best products.
 
IF possible try getting a better line of sight with your wireless router. Also try getting a Belkin network card if you decide to stay with it.
 
ive got a belkin wireless card. Ive bought a longer adsl cable so that i can now put it up the stairs. Hopefully my parents wont mind :)
