Belkin Wireless Networking

Hi

I have a Belkin Wireless Access Point model F5D7130 that i am having a few little problems with and was wondering if any of you could give me a hand in solving them? :D

whats happening is, the access point is working fine but the web interface is not acting quite as it should i dont think...
I can web on to it fine, but when i come to change any of the settings such as the SSID name then it crashes the web interface and disconnects me (as expected as the SSID has changed so my computer thinks the current access point has dissappeared) I then try to find the access point under a different name and the computer finds the old name and wont connect to it, this is the case after i have left it for a while to reconfigure. Then if i try to web onto it using the IP address it again does not find it, even if i use a network cable.

I reset the access point back to factory settings and it works fine again, but i tried doing the steps above again and it did the same thing...

Any one help, i kinda want to make it more secure cos i have new neighbours who have wireless  !!

Thanks guys

Rich

Try setting the whole thing up under a wired connection. then when you are done, connect to the wireless. What it appears is happening is you are changing the SSID, loose connection.. and your computer will not get an new ip address. This is probably happeniong because it is not connected to a network. If you want to try it without doing it wired, try this. Connect to the web url and chaneg the ssid to whatever. Restart your pc and look for wireless networks in range and see if you can see the new ssid. This should work.

Listen Everyone!!!!
Aol+belkin+dell= One C*rap Computering World!!!

What a pointless post.

I have a Belkin router and wireless card and they never fail, there the best i've ever used. I also had a Dell laptop, and it as well was one of the best laptops i've used.
