So I build my new rig and its working great, now I want to sell my told one. What precautions do I need to take before selling? What do I delete, thing to make sure I do and all that good stuff? Anyone have any ideas?

You'll be selling the rig with the hard drive included I imagine?

Well first off, I'd wipe the drive (Derek's Boot-n-Nuke should work well).

someone posted a while back. wiping the free space but can't find it.
Would not worry much about it. Go through and delete as needed.
Or wipe clean and new installation.

There are free programs available for download which can 'shred' the files/unused disk space, that way if you have/had sensitive information stored on your computer, the buyer won't be able to recover it. Eraser, File Shredder, Ccleaner, and I think Glary Utilities has one as well. To use the one in ccleaner uncheck everything else and in the 'advanced' category it has 'Wipe free space".
If you have the OS install disc still, I would say do a clean install of that, they really don't need your games/music/movies/photos/programs/etc.

The easiest solution though is just to sell it without a hard drive in it and keep the drive for yourself as a backup drive or a spare. Why spend hours wiping and reinstalling windows when you can just unscrew the side panel, pull the hard drive out and be done? Just be sure to mention that it doesn't include a hard drive when you are selling it.
