Beep sound from cpu

This problem had been making me uncomfortble for the past 1 month. Whenever ma computer is in a 960*600 resolution or lower (like 800*600, 640*480 etc), there is a beep sound coming from the cpu. The beep sound will be continuing until the resolution is made higher than 960*600 (like 1024*768 etc). Even while running an application that runs at a lower resolution smoothly (like games .etc) this sound beeps throughout. The sound is coming from the cpu and not from the speaker. I need to know how to stop this irritating beep sound.

it can't be coming from the CPU... has to be coming from the motherboard somewhere.... uumm... what video card are you using?

Most likely the CPU might not support the RES as well as your monitor (if it's VGA it will give false RES sizes)

I recently changed ma motherboard and so the computer doesnt have a graphics card. The motherboard ises the NVIDIA Geforce 6150 onboard chipset. And the sound is horrible. It even beeps at times when computer starts.

mine beeps everytime whwn computer statrs... if it beeps 1 time its ok... if it beeps 2 times it's faulty but after that beeps only when the audio is plugged out or a blue screen is appearing... are your drivers good?

Computers often have a beep on start up, usually no more at any other point. I've never heard of a processor not supporting a resolution, don't think that means anything. Check everything looks good in the bios, nothing out of place.

I'd reset the motherboard as well. I don't think it can be a driver issue if the board speaker is beeping...

the beep sound continues through out wen the computer is in a lower resolution than 1024*728 and i dunno how to alter the bios settings much .i can even record the beep sound and upload it.will tat hav any use ,pls help.

peace

Hey there! No the beep sound will not help us as we know that it is the motherboard beep. The motherboard beeps whenever there is a problem...unless there is a single, lone, beep in the beginning, when you computer boots up. This is called the POST beep. What might of happened is that the motherboard might be going out, OR you can try to update your geforce 6150 integrated drivers. If you have the latest drivers already, install the ones of the motherboard CD.

I'll try downloading the latest display drivers now. And i dont think the motherboard is going out as it is brand new with a three years warranty?@#@# My monitor is having problems at times though, but why the beep only at low resolution? The driver i installled is from the motherboard disk which even have a vista compatilble installer. But i'll still download it as you said.

Any more idea?

Onboard video card. Its an integrated chip. Pls tell atleast what the mistake could be of, monitor, processor, motherboard or something else?

Well i am stumped on this one..... the only thing i can say is:
Resit CPU (Processor)
Resit Ram

Then let us know.
