Hello again
Ok, i have recently had problems with a corrupt harddrive on my laptop. So i sent it away to packard bell where, without telling me, they replaaced the hard drive. I was not best pleased. Anyhow this means that the wireless network between the wifi on my laptop and the router on my desktop was erased, because all the settings were on the old hard drive. I rang up the company who set up the old wireless network and they said i should just be able to bring my laptop to them and they can set it up again, without needing to touch the desktop. So now my wireless internet conection is working fine, but i cant accsess the files on my desktop via the network. There are files which are shared, but i cannot pick them up on my laptop. What do i need to do? When i click on my network places i just get a empy white box, theres nothing in it. However on my desktop there is 5 or 6 folders being shared. My laptop also says that the local area connection is not connected, i presume this is the network connection for file shareing?
Cheers
