backing up pc questions.....

wondered if theres any info....any stickies?

not sure how to do, or what to do?

running 3 pc's

xp
vista
win 7

not sure how best to back up?

system back up?

aftermarket program?

copy files to external hd or cd

make a shadow copy?

any suggestions/help/advice appreciated, as i am COMPLETELY LOST on whats the best/right way to back up data.

hmm...
it really depends on what it is you want to backup, generally:
for files and documents, use a cd-r or dvd-r/+r
if you have pictures, music or videos, copy them over to an external hdd.
if you're a professional with very important data, you can use a 3rd party program to schedule backups to a tape drive or nas server.
if you play around with your os installs, you may want to do system backups and/or shadow copies of your partitions.

so it really depends on how important that data is to you, and how much effort/money you're willing to spend.
