Back Audio Panel not working

Hey everybody, so for some reason my back audio panel won't work. Well the microphone line seems to work, but all the speaker output lines won't work. My speakers work fine when i connect them to the headphone jack in the front, but when plugged anywhere in the back, the speakers won't work. umm before this, i had my computer briefly connected to the TV with an HDMI cable, could this have affected the audio panel? I have a Gigabyte GA-M720-US3 motherboard, and my audio driver is RealTek HD Audio Driver. Can anybody help me figure out why the back output is not working...? Thanks so much :)

Check your audio properties for the right sound device.

Control panel, sounds and audio devices, click on audio tab, where it says sound playback make sure your onboard audio or dedicated sound card is selected and not your hdmi port.

Under playback there's speakers and Realtek Digital output and i tried setting each as my default but neither works. The little green bar on the side lights up for both when they're set as teh default... I'm really confused haha the speakers work fine when they're in teh headphone jack

So update, it seems like all the audio jacks work fine. It seems like the driver is the problem or something. With Realtek, when you plug in something into any audio jack, there's a pop up that says "Is the device you plugged in..." and it lists out many options such as Mic In, Line In, Headphones, Side speakers etc. With the speakers, I've tried plugging them into all the jacks and when the screen pops up, if i choose any option besides headphones, no soun will come out of the speakers. When i choose headphones, it works fine. This confuses me even more :/ I've tried reinstalling the driver but I don't think it had much effect.
