This Headset can hook up to the Xbox 360, by plugging the Mic into the extender, which plugs into the controller, like a normal headset. But when I did that, my mic didn't work, no one heard me or anything.



Anything 'special' I have to do?

Buy Xbox headset. While yours and the Xbox's both use an 1/8" jack the patern of metal and insulator (the metal and black stripes) is probably different to prevent people from doing what you want to do. Basically each metal part is a + or - for some part of the headset (mic, left/right earpiece etc) and while the + and - for the sound may line up. the mic may not.

As far as I know there is no hack you can do short of opening up the controller and sodering in a new jack (which depending on how the controller is constructed, you may not be able to do)
