audio will not play

I have installed drivers for my onboard sound card, no sound would come out of the speakers.

I bought a PCI sound card and isntalled that, and still no sound, no matter what. I have tried disabling the onboard soundcard while the PCI one is installed, and no sound. as far as I can see, there is nothing wrong with the drivers. Any ideas??

I am running Windows 2003 Server R2

Thanks, Ben

My friend had a problem liek this what he dident realize was he clicked mute on windows media player when watching a dvd then turned off the computer check all your media settigns and make sure none are on mute.

This was the first thing I checked after reinstalling the sound drivers. They're all unmuted and fully turned up. I'll also say now that in Device manager there are no hardware conflicts

try to open a song in Winamp for example if there is no driver it will give u an error msg if everything is fine it will play the song with no problems if u still dont get a sound out of ur speakers just check if u got the cables in the right place
