Audio crackles...

Just got a new Dell Studio 17 laptop, all is good except for whenever im listening to mp3's or playing games or anything with audio, every 10-15secs the audio will crackle for like 1-2 seconds and the cpu will lag slightly :confused:

this is incredibly annoying, any ideas what could be causing it?
