Just a quick question, might sound a bit stupid but where exactly do I put my headphones??

Do I have to buy one of these?

I hope not because my case has a door and whatever sits behind the door has to be flush to the edge of the case or the door won't close :(

P.S Just looking over the NZXT site for that picture of my case, I've noticed the new Apollo which I must say looks pretty damn nice.

You can plug it into the green port on the back of your soundcard, or the headphone jack on the front I/O panel.

I plug my monitor speaker lead into the green port, and when I put my headphones into the jack on the front I/O panel nothing happens, the sound still plays from my monitor.

The reason I want to do this is so I can cue a track through my headphones in traktor dj studio when a track is still playing through my monitor speakers.

Is there a lead I need to plug into the soundcard inside the case, like the lead that runs from my front I/O is called AUD1.

Thanks for reply too by the way.

The front panel has an ide cable which attaches to the sound card itself, and in addition it also needs a floppy power connector.

the only cable coming from the front panel goes into the AUD1 slot on the motherboard. can you tell me where i put which? and do you mean those wide IDE cables for say the dvd/cd drives?

here is the card on a better angle:

In the motherboard manual it states;

"If you don't want to connect to the front audio header, pins 5 & 6, 9 & 10 have to be jumpered in order to have signal output directed to the rear audio ports. Otherwise, the line-out connector on the back panel will not function."

This is relating to the AUD1 slot on the motherboard.
Is this in any way related to what I am trying to do?

Here is the picture of my board, I have circled the AUD1 slot in the top left hand corner of the picture, you can see that they are jumpered with green covers.

I think theres a misunderstanding.

If your talking about the Audigy 2ZS front panel, that has to be plugged into the Audigy 2ZS sound card with an IDE cable, and it also requires a floppy power adapter.

If your talking about the front ports built into your case, you can't hook those up to your Audigy 2ZS since it doesnt support those headers.

yes, im talking about the front ports built into my case, I don't have the front I/O for the card, thats what I meant, I just need somewhere to plug in my headphones but I didn't want to buy that front I/O bay.

So there is no way I can plug my headphones in and listen to the sound from my monitor speakers without buying that front panel?

You could plug them into the onboard, but you cant use the custom case headers with the Audigy 2ZS. However I did read someplace where you can rewire the headers and make it work with the Audigy series, but that will take some Googling to find out.

So I should enable the onboard sound and plug my headphones into the green slot in the rear of my case and keep my monitor speakers plugged into the green slot of my soundcard?

I don't realy want to mess around with wiring, I thought setting multi channel would be an easy task, but then again.. nothing is.

You should be able to do that, but remember since your using the onboard your not going to be utilizing the advantages of the Audigy 2 ZS.

You could also get a splitter, which would allow you to plug headphones and speakers into the back of the sound card, if that still lets you do what you want.

yes, i was looking into a splitter but I wasnt sure if it would let me use multi channel or not.

I have plugged my pc speakers into the soundcard and my headphone's into the onboard sound but you can only run the sound from either the onboard or the soundcard at one time, not listen to the onboard through the headphones why the monitor speakers are playing from the soundcard. I have a feeling that this will happen if I get a splitter also. I need to be using the soundcard's 2 channels - the first going to my pc speakers and the second to the headphones, I don't have any more idea's, but have contacted Creative to see if I can get some answers. I know it is possible because in the description it states;

"ASIO drivers for low latency (²2ms) multi-track playback and recording at 16-bit/48kHz*"

I feel i may be selling this card in the near future :(
