Not necessarily. Have you ran TDSSkiller? Without seeing the log I couldn't tell you if what it found is bad or not. TDSSKiller is more user friendly for some people.

thanks john, yes i have run tdsskiller, i tried it before the avast one. no threats found with tdsskiller but it said it only scanned a couple hundred items
