Asus Onboard Vs PS3 Audio

So a couple of days ago i purchased fifa 11 and fired up my olde phat PS3 again. I thought I would play a song that is on the hard drive of the PS3 and holy dooly what a difference in sound quality it makes to my x540's. So now i know i need a dedicated Pci/Pci express soundcard. Top of the line sounds good not too worried on price just want the sound that the PS3 can offer or better. Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

thanks...:)

If on the cheap, same one I have. The PCI-E version also has optical in/out if you need that.

Or maybe if you want to spend a bit more, get a true X-Fi like the XtremeMusic or XtremeGamer.

Anything is better than onboard sound. The cystallizer and the x-fi effects sure do make a difference.

Yeah i have heard that onboard audio is nothing compared to a really nice Pci Express sound card this is what I need. I will spend the money for one of the best soundcards to date. I just need a better sound as to what my onboard is outputting atm.

Thanks linkin, i am looking at either

*Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium FATAL1TY Pro PCIe
Or the HD Version
*Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD
Or FATAL1TY tuned
*Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium FATAL1TY Champion PCIe

I will have to transfer more funds to paypal though and you know how slow that is :(

mwave probably as i'm getting everything else from there just realised the HD doesn't have the plugs my x 540's have will it come with a converter or i just can't have a HD card with the speakers i have.

Not sure. As long as the card has 5.1 written anywhere on it it should be able to use the X540's

When i was living in perth I had the X530's and they worked fine on my PS2 and computer, they had a little adapter for the PS2/consoles.
