Asus laptop with bad screen colors

Hey guys!

I had bought a Asus R510C last year and ever since I had this weird orange color calibration that appeared a few seconds after logging in. I first thought it was some filter but never found it. I could turn it off manually by going into color calibration and pressing "next", but it came back ass soon as I shut down the laptop.

Sooo after a few month of searching what was the problem, I think I found it!
Asus Splendid Video Enhancement Technology. Uninstalled, rebooted the laptop and now the colors are perfect.

I thought I'll share this here since I've been looking for answers quite everywhere lately.

:good:

I have this on my laptop and I'm guessing you had it set to Theatre for some reason. Looks fine on normal, but orangey on that.

Maybe, but the thing is I never changed any settings... Found out it existed yesterday...

I was thinking of buying asus laptop, but after reading your post i need to think again for it and check reviews.

There's nothing wrong with ASUS laptops. They make perfectly fine machines. Just like other manufacturers, they're not perfect and there are bound to be issues here and there.

Also, if you actually read the post, you'd see it was a piece of software installed by ASUS (that you can completely uninstall without repercussion) that causes the issue.

I would recommend Asus any day, I just provided a fix useful especially if you do photography (post-processing images for instance).
