Anyone Use TrueCrypt?

I was thinking once I go SSD to cut 50GB out of my 500GB HDD for private information. Nothing I could live without (or don't have backed up) or die if lose but enough security to keep the majority of the family out. Digital Records / Sales Pictures / etc. Things that pop up from time to time that so I don't need to plug in my backups.

Question is anyone ever use this and how exactly does it work? Is it a automatic when putting in new files? I just want to use this on a blank 50GB partition...not my primary or the other 450GB of the HDD is that actually possible if I split the disc up?

I haven't used truecrpyt, but I would imagine it creates a file vault. That is a an encrypted file as a virtual disk for storage. The same principle is applied with BitDefender file vault and several others. It is quite good for keeping confidential files safe.

After re-reading I noticed the virtual feature is just one of the features of truecrypt. It actually does a lot more. So you shouldn't have any problems with it.
