I went to a local computer shop to order my new build and after talking about it the guy said i knew a lot for my age (17) and asked me to become an intern. So i said sure. He said he's going to teach me to build, repair, install, ect basically everything. You think there's a chance he's preparing me to hire and just not telling me? I also know one of his guys is leaving for the air force so i got my hopes up. Be awesome if i got the job considering I'm 17 and a junior in high school. So anyone else have a similar story?

Well he wouldn't be spending his time teaching you if he didn't plan to hire you.

Just be smart...show confidence in yourself and the ability to shut up and listen and to actually learn it.
I do that job currently and its really simple....most the stuff I do I learned when before I was 16 reading the internet and building my own systems and 90% of the issues I have I can fix the other % I have to ask here but then I know next time :)

So should be a fun job...best part is most the time you wont deal with idiots...I repair then others deal with the people so fantastic job imo. Just do a bit of reading....learning when your not at work makes you look more impressive as well. Better he feels about you the more likely he will keep you.

Grats.

I'm just worried I won't learn as fast as he wants me to. I don't know nearly enough to have it as my job. I mean I've never even built my own computer. Guess there's a reason this internships months long.
