Any beeper emulators out there?

Now, I've gotten back to the classic sierra adventure games. A problem with them is that they use beeper sounds, and I've unplugged the beeper because of the infernal sounds it makes up. However, sounds are vital in many of the games, and thus are required.

I remember that my last motherboard (it's sound card?) made beeper sounds come from the normal speakers instead, thus making them a lot more gentle, and, being able to change the volume, it was a quite comfortable solution. My current set up doesn't support this.

Now, my question is that are there any so called beeper emulators, which could make the sounds sent to beeper come up in speakers too? If so, where can I find them?

If there aren't such programs, then is there a way to adjust the beeper's volume? It's quite loud on default, and I haven't found any way to lower the volume to make them more comfortable to ears.

Please, don't tell me that I have to plug in the infamous yellow-black cord...

Wow, that's old. Heh, what you are refering to is typically called the PC Speaker. Why not just add one? It's not like it would be that expensive. Find an old PC and rip it out or look at some computer stores, I beleive a few near me had a box full of them.

I too have a few computers that beep though the speakers, but these typically have onboard sound as well...

No no, you misunderstood me.

I don't like the rough sound that come of the beeper (I like to call it a beeper, because it beeps, and then the modern speakers as speakers, since they can create proper sounds), so I'd like them to come out of my speakers, so that I can adjust the volume, which I can't do with beeper.
