I want to put an animated image as an Avatar but lose the animation. There
is only the image with no movement. Thank you very much, Chris P Bacon

He wants to lose the animation and have a static image...

I believe GIMP allows you to view .gif files by frame. You can open it in that and save only the frame you want.

or do a slight edit in paint (like a tiny black dot in a corner) then save it will stop the animation too ^-^

I don't want to lose the animation. What I'm saying is that when I try to use an animated moving image, such as to put it in a post, profile picture area etc.,I cease to have any movement. The image is stationery. I have seen others do this.
Thank you, Chris P Bacon

As already said, the rules do not allow animated profiles, if you have seen them on this forum as an avatar it's because they were allowed in the past and those earlier members were allowed to keep them when the rules were changed. As for posting them in a thread, it's no problem.

Just a simple question

I more than realize that you're not suppose to have an animated avatar at this site. All I want is the know how to keep movement in an animated image if I move it. This has nothing to do with breaking any rules here at Computer Forum.
Thanks, Chris P Bacon

You have to export the file as a .gif
