Advent - BOOTMGR is compressed

Hi guys

Any help will be much appreciated!!!! A few months ago i compressed my C: and when i restart it i had the message of BOOTMGR is compressed, press ctrl alt del to resume - this just then takes it back to the beginning and does it all over again.

My computer is a Netbook with no CD drive and every post i read (not just on this forum) it says to install a disc etc but i cant do that! It runs off Windows XP.

I have been trying to do this for months and i have to admit, i'm not brill at computers (its my own stupid fault for compressing the C: drive - dont ask why i did this!)

I do have a USB stick, so if there is something that i can put on there to get it to boot up and work etc would be brilliant.

Again, all/any help would be appreciated

Thanks
Lauren

Try booting into safe mode and then uncompressing your drive to get it back the way it was.

How do i get it to load up in safe mode? It doesn't give me the option and when i press "F"something it takes me to a blue screen and again doesn't give me the option to do so in there?

Should be able to tap f8 and keep doing it right after you turn it on. Should go to a black screen with other options such as safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, plus a whole pageful of options.
