taken i haven't downloaded anything big or used any sharing/p2p program in that time..only surfing the web and AIM  those sent/recieved numbers seem too high to me...just me maybe?

There's a service in XP called BITS, or Background Intelligence Transfer Service. It gathers information about your computer and then sends it to the Microsoft severs. Disable the service by doing this:

Windows Key+R (This will bring up the Run dialog)
services.msc
Look for BITS and stop the service, then go into the properties of it and disable it.

That might be what's doing it.

i also have this thing called weatherbug...it shows the temp. outside and gets that from somewhere online i guess...it's on constent..could that be it?

That could very well be it, that's like boderline spyware too.

guess not..uninstalled and recieved is already up to a million in 3 mins..i've been google-ing but there isn't alot of key words to search for

i had weatherbug and when i uninstalled it, it didnt completely go away so make sure you search your computer manually for stuff relating to it. and yes as Imaruki said, that has some spyware within it.

You can also lock the connection in the firewall and see in its log what program want to access the internet.
