Acrylic case problems

My metal case was shorting out my mobo and not letting me boot, so I bought an acrylic one and now my monitor flickers and has lines on it. I guess it's EMI, but I can't seem to fix it. If a TV is 5-10 feet away, can it affect it? Looking for ways to shield my computer or just remove this static.

Try reseating the video card. When installing the current on an older system used here often some steady horizontal lines were seen for a few weeks until an update and swapout of a drive saw that gone for good. While checking the cards and doing some cleaning with a can of compressed air the problem went away. There's a tv running even closer to the system here with no lines being seen. Recheck the vga plug to make sure that is in all the way too.

EMI can effect a system under some circumstances. But you just relocated all hardwares to the new case where a reinspection of all connections would be the place to start. You can also recycle the monitor itself by turning it on while having first unplugged the ac cord. That will drain the capaciters inside if you are running a crt not lcd model.
