Hello Guys

I am interest to buy new speakers. I had altec lancing 5.1., general was very good, however recently the woofer starting creaks and i am thinking to change it

My problem is if i will buy Speakers 2.1 or Monitor Speakers ??? I don't khow if Monitor speakers are properly for Pc or only for studios ???

Searching on forums and google, i understand that i must avoid Logitech and Creative. I heard good comments for
M-Audio Studiophile AV40
Harman Kardon SoundSticks III.

My basic priority is the quality and a good level of volume. My budget is maximum 120 Εuro.
I want listen music and watch movies. I am not a Dj and i am not playing games

Any help for my choise would be thankful. If you have any other option... plz help me

I have a pair of M-audio AV40s and they're definitively better in terms of sound quality than any 2.1 system you can get out there. However, you will be sacrificing some bass with monitor speakers, though you can always add a subwoofer to the setup later (as I did).

If i buy these speakers, i have to buy and sound Card. ?? I am telling you this because i have onboard sound card and i am not interest to buy this time...

I heard that AV-40 works good only with good sound card.
What is your opinion ??

thx

I'm running Audioengine A5s with onboard sound. People might hate me for it, but they sound amazing even like this. After the burn-in period (a few days of listening) the bass matured and became more textured. For a 2.0 set, they seriously shake the room. They're a little more expensive than the AV-40s, but they're really high quality.
Best part is, no speaker grilles so you can see the drivers pumping :)

I got a pair of Reloop ADM-5 powered dj monitors to use with my computer as I play very bass heavy music at medium-high volume levels such as reggae and dnb.
And I also want it to sound hifi which it does.
Unlike Logitech which imo, had crappy tinny fullrange sats and a booming overpowered subwoofer.
Also they go extremelly loud, so they double up as speakers to use at a house party, I just play the music directly from my pc.

They cost £125 a pair new and are 30w rms x2, and feature a 5 inch bass and 1 inch soft dome tweeter each cab.
And also are rear ported, and have no grilles, and feature a 3.5mm subwoofer output.
