This is a really common question, I am looking for a laptop on DELL. I use my laptop for everything except high-end gaming. Which CPU would be the most suitable and durable factoring in the price?

Pentium® dual-core
Core Duo
C2D
AMD Turion™ 64 X2

And i know that CoreDuo has 2 M cache but dual core has only 1M, does this make a big difference in terms of daily usage and durability.

The Core2duo is no doubt the best chip at this point. The AMD X2 lineup would be second, followed by the pentium D dual core

Pentium D is a desktop processor.

Pentium dual-core is a laptop processor and it is exactly the same as Core duo with half the cache.

Core 2 Duo > Core Duo > Pentium dual-core > Turion

No I don't think that the extra cache memory will make any big difference
