A Better Way To Sell?

It seems like Craigslist isn't working with me selling my computer, and I was wondering if I should try any other way of selling it. Should I go with eBay? I doubt anyone here would pay what I'm asking for it, so I'm not even going to ask. If someone wants some of the parts, I could try scrapping it out if I could get near what I want...

i would try ebay

X2
Also, someone said listing it in a craigslist area a little further away but shipping and exchange of money could be sketchy.
Maybe classifieds in newspaper but im not sure if anyone shops for computers in the newspaper and that costs money...but ebay does too...but ebay is better.

I guess on ebay I could have it start @ like $500 and have the reserve @ $900, instead of starting at $1200 :D. I'll try it. Does my craigslist ad look like it would work on eBay as well, minus the "cash and pickup only thing".

Yeah, craigslist ad looked nice.
Clean, gave all the information making it sound likea great deal to noobs and a decent deal to experienced users.

Local ad's, like at a local computer store, cyber cafe, something like that.

It would be like Craigslist, but a bit better.

Yeah, it's worth a try but I'd assume craigslist has more viewers. And eBay has so many users that you will have to lower the price alot to be competitive.

My suggestion... try listing on Portland craigslist. If you get solid responses try offering the people 25$ off what they were going to pay and see if they will meet you halfway. Or see if you could pay someone to drive it up and do the transaction. Shipping it would work, but that would be hard to organize securely.

i'd recommend going with local adds first. ask people you know to see if they are interested. if you have a job, ask coworkers, if you goto school, ask people at school. if you want to get a good amount of money for it, the object is to sell it to somebody who doesn't know much about computers because they wont know they can build one for cheap.

ebay, ehh, its a good site, but with the large amount of things there and lots of people already selling stuff on there you might not be able to get a good price unless you make the description look extremely well and overplay the pcs good points a lot. I often see computers on ebay for less then the cost to build them from newegg.

You have to think what your competition is, and evaluate your market. People shopping on Craigslist aren't exactly power users, and 1200 for an AMD is insane, especially since you can buy one at Walmart for $300, with WIndows and everything. They won't understand better quality parts. They'll only see "1200 as opposed to 300" and you'll be sitting on it until it rusts.

You can buy barebone systems at Tiger Direct with similar specs for under $400.. In fact, they come with dual 8600s IIRC. The harddrive is worth about $60. You're wayyyy overpriced for what you have, and that's why it isn't selling. I sell off lease HP corporate class towers for $325, with licensed XP Pro and everything....and a warranty.

You need to drop your price if you want to move it.
