8 channels?

Im not sure if Im in the right spot for this, but my motherboard is a gigabyte K8NS PRO and it is supposed to have an onboard 8 channel audioo...but it only has an input like a 2.1 channel deal, so is it possible to hook up sorround sound to this board? thanks

it means if you can link 8 speakers up to an amp, then the amp to the sound card, it would come out of all 8 speakers (7 satellite 1 Sub) you just need a good amp
