I was given a set of speakers that include. A sub, a center, 2 surround and a front. I'm 99% sure that I'm missing a second front speaker. Since the front and surround speakers. Are technically the same (or are they????) Does it. Matter how they are implemented, like, could I just use them in 4.1 setup with 1 surround or would the sound be off?? Thanks for the input!

Speakers are speakers, as long as you wire them up correctly they will work fine. For instance you can use a right rear speaker to replace the front speaker, just as long as you wire it on the receiver. Although usually the rear speakers are lower wattage then the fronts, so they won't be as loud.
