WOW, I just purchased 5.1 souround sound headphones, USB, for $42 on newegg. I have a Creative Inspire 6.1 system, running on sound blaster Live!, and these headphones BLOW THEM AWAY. AMAZING! I'm hear guitar work in black sabbath that I did not know was there... Doom 3, hearing those bastards coming up from the back. Amazing bass response, these things are the SHIZNIT. Such an advantage in Source and BF2. HIGHLY RECOMENDED! check em out. 5.1 Headset
 
Bah, just get a $5 long distance mic. and stick it on your desk. thats wat I do and it works fine. they don't come w/ them, but they are sooo sweeeeeet
 
think about it, if It wraps around your ear, you only take in noises that eventually file into that little hole, so the headphones can give positional sounds that seem like they come from distance, cause they cover over your entire hearing range :)
