5.1 and sound blaster 24 bit

heya,

i have a set of surround sound logitech x-530 speakers and as i had a intergrated sound card i bought a sound blaster live 24-bit 7.1 channel sound card.

my problem is that only my two front speakers work! For example it is just doing what it used to do when i had my old intergrated sound card.

as my sound card didnt come with drivers i downloaded them off the creative website seeing as that was my only choice but still i had no succese. I have the option under control panel > adio devices set to 5.1 but still i have no succes.

if sumone could help me out that would be the best thin in the world as my parents are pretty pissed of that they are not working =[

you'll need the cd that has the drivers/programs that came with your card. do you have any way of getting them?

as i bought this around a month or so ago i dont think the guys at the shop would give me one. they aint that nice of a shop dont know why i bought from there lol.
 
So you have the new card enabled with the latest drivers from creative's wesite?

how are the speakers plugged in? Are you using component (lots of cables) or digital (singe rca or optical cable)?
 
yes i have the new card in with the lastest drivers on it.

the speakers use cables and i have plugged them in in the proper postions (colour coded).
 
i highly doubt it's the cables.

you need the creative cd that i'm talking about because on it is the software you need to setup your speaker configuration. with the drivers you have installed from creatives site, from your problem it sounds that your system thinks you only have perhaps a 2.1 system.

the drivers on creative's site are NOT what you need, they are only driver updates. if you can find a way to get that cd, get it!
